Since I still have an obligation to bring stuff to the site I thought I might pique the interest of some of those who may have, or have not, been following Black Mesa Source

Lately we’ve been having trouble uploading our podcasts so episode 15 will have to wait for now. We will put it up as soon as possible.

For now, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

The episode we recorded today was quite a good episode in my opinion. I ranted and raved a bit, but in the end I feel that the discussion on Left 4 Dead was good. Feel free to drop your opinions in the forum if you deem necessary (and I encourage). Today we discussed…

-Audiosurf for $2.50

-Activision money grabbers

-Gamestop is stupid

-Left 4 Dead is awesome

-Witches are fun to kill

-Pie > Cake

- And for your listening pleasure, Jonathan Coulton’s “Re: Your Brains”

Thank you for listening, and tune back next week for another episode.

Eets

Eets is a game I really enjoy. It’s a puzzle game that requires you to use an array of interesting tools to get your character to the end of the level. The game is fairly long and you can’t go wrong for the price of a hamburger. There’s even a demo on Steam for those of you I’ve yet to convince. Go now, shoo, play Eets.

If you have been waitign anxiously for the Left 4 Dead demo, then today is the day to get it. Of course the Demo is only available for those who have pre-ordered the game (and hopefully anyone who pre-orders later), but if you have pre-ordered then you can begin to play later. The Demo is expected to hit Steam at around 7 PST, which is 10 EST for guys here on the east coast.

AudiosurfAudiosurf is one of those games you have to play. It’s mix of twitch and rythm gameplay has kept me playing since it’s release. Today Audiosurf’s price was lowered on Steam to $2.49 for a limited time. If you haven’t played Audiosurf you’re really doing yourself an injustice. And at this price? You can’t turn it down.

By the time you are probably listening then the polls should have opened, and your votes are being counted, but we have to get that one last “Go Vote” in before they close. This episode was a short, but sweet, and amusing podcast. Today we discussed…

-CoD WaW Beta

-Why WaW is bad

-Why WaW is good

-Fallout 3 SecuROM

-Sony owns SecuROM?

-A little Left 4 Dead love

-Some more Dreamcast

-Obama holds a grenade?

Our impressions on the next podcast (side note: Stay tuned for when we get a chance to edit the last one).

You are on a luxury cruise ship, you have with you a letter opener, a target, and an assassin on your tail. What will you do?  The Ship is a source mod released two years ago, it is a unique game that demands your wit, your patience, and your sharpness.  Each player aboard the cruise was enigmatically invited to stay on this grand boat, free of charge, only to be trapped within the perverse games of an enigmatic and wealthy Mr. X. In order to preserve yourself and the lives of your family (not necessarily onboard the ship), you must earn cash through assassinating specified targets. Money will be taken away if a character were to murder the wrong person or if he is caught in the act. All this while, each player must wash themselves, feed themselves, and such. The man who possesses the most cash proceeding the match is the victor. The result of such factors is a cage of nervous mice, paranoically trying to kill and stay alive. Now why you ask, am I bringing up such an old game? You see, Steam has decided to cut the price by 75% for this weekend only! Anyone can now own this toy for a mere $5, friggin’ sweet, eh? Anyways, time for the actualy gameplay analysis. Single-player is absolutely horrible, the AI is dumb, very dumb. Just take my advice and forget offline-play. Multiplayer, on the other hand, is great fun. Bringing a human to his death through a mannequin arm just screams out ‘class’. My only complaint concerns the various configurations on different servers. Some servers tune down the human necessities far too much, most humans on such servers are dead before they even need to take a dump. Though, besides these flaws, the Ship is a fun toy, well-worth your $5. But you might have to hurry up, time’s slipping through. This writer woud love to meet you aboard the ship someday.
